Well, this is a transfer that we all did not expect, especially on the last day of the transfer window. Thembinkosi Lorch to Mamelodi Sundowns has been confirmed that there has been a deal that is agreed upon between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.

This is a shocker of a transfer to Orlando Pirates fans as they did not expect that the deal will go through between the two clubs. Will Thembinkosi be a starter for Masandawana? That is the question on everyone's lips at the moment but analysing the transfer, Lorch's transfer to Mamelodi Sundowns makes a shift in both teams as at Mamelodi Sundowns, it seems like Rhulani Mokwena will be using new tactics, new formations as the club has brought in other players during this transfer window. 

Lorch is a player that is often used as a winger when he plays but Rhulani Mokoena has shown on many occasions that he can use players in other positions too. Lorch can be used in a deeper role just behind the striker as we have to take into consideration that most Sundowns players are at the African Cup of Nations and they will need some rest, so with players like Lorch coming in, it will bring a lot more versatility to the club as Lorch is a technically gifted player that can fit well at Mamelodi Sundowns. 

Disappointment from pirates' fans: As expected, Orlando Pirates fans were disappointed to hear that their talisman is leaving the club.  Lorch's departure from Orlando Pirates makes a shift in the team as a whole as when a big player leaves the club, players that are remaining at the club start to now have a mentality that they have to step up. Players such as the likes of Relebohile Mofokeng will now be given the task to step up and fill in the shoes of Thembinkosi Lorch. The transfer also allows Pirates to take another look and going into the market in June which will require the team to also take a shift in their scouting market so the club can bring in players in the next transfer window.
